24h in action: ŠKODA service vehicles on the track

Although the Nürburgring belongs to the bikes at Rad am Ring, there are still a few cars on the road. For a good reason: during the 24h races, at least five ŠKODA track vehicles are permanently on the circuits to provide assistance in the event of breakdowns or accidents. Among other things, the vehicles have tools and an air pump on board. If a participant cannot get his bike going again despite this assistance, he can be transported to the start and finish in the vehicle. Attention: If the transponder is carried along, the lap will be deducted from the result. If the transponder is taken over by a team colleague called by telephone (only from the same team, not possible for individual riders), the result will not be affected.
At many cycling events, including the Tour de France, ŠKODA always drives ahead. At Rad am Ring, not only the advance vehicles come from the Czech manufacturer, but also the “endurance runners” in the 24h race, press car and VIP vehicle carry the same emblem – a total of 14 service vehicles ensure smooth processes.
Many thanks for that!
