Season preparation – Training on Mallorca

Rad am Ring and Philipps Bike Team (PBT) have been part of the same family for a while now. This partnership is a perfect match, as RaR participants can prepare for the season or the Nürburgring event by means of camps, cycling weeks, and theory sessions on Mallorca. Why is cycling on Mallorca with PBT so appealing? Well, let’s see…

There is a wide range of rental bikes available, so you don’t need to worry about traveling with bulky luggage. The hotels are well-equipped, cycling-friendly, and perfectly located for tours. The routes are stunning, well-paved, and the landscape is breathtaking, especially in the Tramuntana Mountains. Mallorca is easily accessible by plane from nearly anywhere, and if you bring your own bike, it will be transported to your hotel, where you’ll find plenty of like-minded cyclists. Any questions? We’ve summarized the most common ones for you in the Q&A below.

Q&A Philipps Bike Team

What is the difference between training camps and cycling weeks?

Every bookable week combines cycling experiences with off-the-bike activities and community fun for different performance levels. While cycling weeks or holidays focus on spending some fun hours in the saddle together, our training camps, starting at the “Genießer” (“afficionado”) level, take it a step further: we offer specific training sessions, training plans, and a wealth of theoretical input with a focus on improving individual performance. The head coach during camp weeks is Torsten Weber, ultra-cyclist and head of PMP Coaching.

What level of fitness do I need to enjoy Philipps Bike Team?

In short: any. Everyone enjoys cycling with us because we take care of everyone! We offer six performance levels: Mixed, Mixed LD, Genießer, Genießer LD, Roller, and Roller LD. The “LD” stands for “Long Distance” and defines that the level differentiation is based on daily distances rather than average speed. E-bikes are also welcome on tours marked as Mixed. A detailed overview with average speeds is provided in the PBT weekly program, which you can find on the website under the respective locations.

Why are solo travelers in good hands with Philipps Bike Team?

Shared cycling joy is double the joy. If you can’t or don’t want to bring a fellow cyclist along, you’ll find plenty of new cycling friends on Mallorca’s north or southwest coast every week. No matter how ambitious your cycling week, PBT offers the right group with the right companions. All guests, guides, some workshop team members, and heads of Philipps Bike Team stay in our hotel homebases. This means there’s always someone around for a chat or a drink at the bar. The hotels and surroundings also are fit to take a dip in the sea or pool, relax in the sauna or fitness area, or enjoy other non-cycling activities – be it on your own or in good company.
